The Good, The Bad, The Weird

Kim Ji-woon's "The Good, The Bad, The Weird" has a very obvious inspiration. Though there are more differences than similarities between this and "Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo." One similarity is "The Bad." Lee Byung-hun's character Chang-yi is definately inspired by Lee Van Cleef's Angel Eyes. They are even made to look reasonably similar. Also in both films they are definately villainous. They are with out a doubt "The Bad." Now in both films "The Good" does have some shade of grey to him. Clint Eastwood's Man With No Name though is unarguably a good guy, where as Jung Woo-sung's Do-wan is harder to pin point, as out of the three, Do-wan has the least backstory, or charater development. His only motivation appears to be bounty hunting for money.

Top 6 Jack Nicholson Movies.

Any readers of my previous blog, Sherlock's Neighbour, will know that I used to only
discuss books. This new blog will not focus so solely on one topic. To get the ball rolling I have decided to discuss my top 6 Jack Nicholson movies. (Obscure number I know).

He is the most Oscar nominated actor of all time, and you can easily tell why.
If you don't like him, you probably arn't watching the movies. Easily one of the best
actors of all time, and these are my personal favourite Nicholson movies.

6. The Little Shop of Horrors (1960)

Most people I know, don't know about this film, let alone the fact that Jack is in it! His fourth film ever, and it is a bit part, but it almost sums up what he will become famous for. A charming yet scary individual. He plays Wilbur Force, the masochistic dental patient. A short but fun part to see Nicholson play!

5. The Shining (1980)

Easily one of his most famous roles. Stanley Kubrick's The Shining, based on Stephen Kings book. To the extent that King hates it, and Kubrick did it his own awesome way.
One of the scariest roles ever, famous that infamous line. If you havn't seen this film be sure to watch it with the lights off!

4. The Witches of Eastwick

3. Chinatown

2. One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest

1. Batman
